KINGS OF CONVENIENCE - the folk-pop duo which consist of ERLEND OYE and EIRIK BOE were the first ones to play at last saturday's LANEWAY FEST and im pretty sure that was the organiser's trick to get all the festival go-ers there early!! :P

anyways, we met these two hours after their gig and take this from me - THEY ARE VERY, VERY UNFRIENDLY!!

prior to meeting them two, we have been warned by the other fans that don't fall for their friendly looks on the images off google nor the happy and folkish music they play for thinking that these guys are.. nice, approachable and friendly..

then again, we experienced it first hand ourselves and the rumours are true - these guys are one of the most unfriendly celebrities on earth!!

ERLEND sure looks like he's stuck in a generation of that even before he was born.. he would reluctantly sign and refused photos.

as for EIRIK, he is the nicer of the two as he walked back to us to sign some autographs. however, his autographs are so inconsistent.. heh

i wish i had more positive things to say about the experience of meeting these two but the only good thing about them is the music heh heh

so we met 50% of TAME IMPALA shortly after they've landed here in singapore.

reason we only managed to meet 2/4 of the band is cause the other two were too tired and have gone up to their rooms upon checking in at the hotel - ha ha

i really wanted to meet KEVIN PARKER though.. heh oh well..

fingers crossed they'd make their way back here soon.. :))

anyways MINK and DOMINIC looked really tired from the flight so we didnt bother them too much after we got a photo and some autographs heh

so we met the winner of the 2012 mercury prize, ALT-J, who were also in town as part of the first date of the australia-singapore annual LANEWAY FESTIVAL this year!!

as you can tell we didnt manage to meet the entire band as lead singer JOE was mostly nowhere to be found with the other three.

and these guys are really nice.. :)) i like the geeky look on GUS, THOM's pink hair and GWIL's blonde hair and his smile.. then again, when you're british and opens your mouth to speak, you're a winner by default. yes, im biased like that ha ha

anyways i sure hope these guys will be back on our shoes to play their own gig in the near future heh fingers crossed!!

so we met this supergroup which consist of BRITT DANIEL of SPOON, DAN BOECKNER of WOLF PARADE, SAM BROWN of NEW BOMB TURKS and ALEX FISCHEL, collectively known as, DIVINE FITS!!

met these guys as they made their way back from soundcheck and they were so so nice.

i even made SAM and ALEX wait for DAN and BRITT, who were smoking outside, to have a group photo taken before letting them go.

but i thought it was quite mean to deprive them of their shower time, especially after sweating buckets from soundcheck heh so we took individual shots instead ha ha

also, ALEX was telling me how much he loved spicy food and that prior to singapore, he was in yangon with DAN, and the food there made his stomach rather dodgy. but he explained that since they are lived in los angelas and with the amount of mexican food, he have grown to really enjoy spicy food and thinks singapore's got lots of great food heh heh

so BRITT mentioned that he was really excited about coming to singapore as this was his maiden's trip here!! the only place in asia he's been before was only japan so he was really looking forward to coming here.

well we were glad you came as well! :))

so we bumped into the frontwoman of POLICA, CHANNY LEANEAGH, shortly after she and her band's gig at the annual LANEWAY FESTIVAL!

and i know this is kinda 'duh' but.. SHE IS SO SO PRETTY!!! :P

she did not look the least tired at all despite just playing a full set bout a few hours ago heh that's what we call a true professional ehh ha

and she was so kind to have stopped for an autograph and photo too.. :))

the rest of the band were not spotted during their slightly over 24 hours here in singapore but im sure out paths will cross should POLICA pop by our shores again in the future heh :P

met them shortly after their arrival into singapore and it seems like they've been travelling for 13 hours to get here!

anand sounded a little disappointed when he mentioned that they thought they were gonna play in south east asia last year but plans fell through.. but is glad to be back in singapore to play at Laneway!

but regional YEASAYER fans, fret not, they are working to come back to this part of the world!! :DDD

honestly, BRIAN has the skinniest legs ever. never knew he was THAT skinny from the videos on youtube but he was, really really skinny heh

as you can tell from below, i did make them sign quite a number of stuff for me hee :P

nanna is so sweet. her smile is so warm and her voice doesnt sound like that of when she sings.. but thats no big deal heh heh and.. she even photo bombed my photo with raggi!! ha but it's very cute :P

brynjar and kristjan are my two favourites, in terms of looks.. ha ha

as for arnar.. he seems a bit lost but he still looks decent heh heh

wish arni did not leave the band just before they come to singapore though.. heh

im such a big fan of this band, with their distinctive vocals and music.

so glad they made it here but i am secretly hoping they will do a proper gig of them own in the near future.. and that would mean after july since they are pretty packed all the way till then based on their tour dates! heh

KIMBRA

so we managed to meet KIMBRA shortly after her arrival onto our shores, ahead of her gig at this year's LANEWAY FEST!

she looked really tired but that did not stop her from stopping to sign some autographs and pose for some photos with us.

such a darling..

don't you think she looks really good as well despite having the littlest/no make up on?

wish we spoke more but we decided to leave her to rest since she even mixed up the days/dates ha ha :P

now i sure am gonna be singing 'SOMEBODY THAT I USED TO KNOW'.. HA HA!!

BAT FOR LASHES

'daniel.. the first time i saw you..' - that is the introduction to BAT FOR LASHES' hit single, 'daniel'..

that was, indeed, the first time NATASHA KHAN saw me, or more commonly known as BAT FOR LASHES!! ha ha

we met her ahead of her appearance at this year's instalment of the annual LANEWAY FEST in singapore..

she looked chirpy and happy when we bumped into her. guessing she must have just finished dinner with her four-member entourage with her.

read some stuff about her with fans prior to meeting her that she is usually nice and friendly and guess what?

she couldn't have been any sweeter..

she had a cute pink tee, with roll-up sleeves on, and a high-waist skirt. and a pair of knee-high boots to complete the outfit

she was so cute when she asked me what my name was, as she was signing for me, and i said 'daniel'. she looked at me looking all surprise and said 'it's all meant to be' ha ha

she is such a sweetheart.. here's what she signed for me..

so.. we met WOUTER 'WALLY' DE BACKER, or widely known as GOTYE by the masses, ahead of his special appearance at this year's singapore-only LANEWAY FEST!! :DDD

met him shortly after he's arrived on our shores and he is really really nice :)))

funny trivia - he totally forgot about the fact that KIMBRA was gonna sing with him on the same stage!! HA HA!! he went 'ahhh yes..' and claimed that 'we've been doing so many shows without her..'

anyways, only had a short conversation as he was gonna head out to grab din dins.. heh
