so we met 50% of TAME IMPALA shortly after they've landed here in singapore.

reason we only managed to meet 2/4 of the band is cause the other two were too tired and have gone up to their rooms upon checking in at the hotel - ha ha

i really wanted to meet KEVIN PARKER though.. heh oh well..

fingers crossed they'd make their way back here soon.. :))

anyways MINK and DOMINIC looked really tired from the flight so we didnt bother them too much after we got a photo and some autographs heh

so we met the winner of the 2012 mercury prize, ALT-J, who were also in town as part of the first date of the australia-singapore annual LANEWAY FESTIVAL this year!!

as you can tell we didnt manage to meet the entire band as lead singer JOE was mostly nowhere to be found with the other three.

and these guys are really nice.. :)) i like the geeky look on GUS, THOM's pink hair and GWIL's blonde hair and his smile.. then again, when you're british and opens your mouth to speak, you're a winner by default. yes, im biased like that ha ha

anyways i sure hope these guys will be back on our shoes to play their own gig in the near future heh fingers crossed!!

so we met this supergroup which consist of BRITT DANIEL of SPOON, DAN BOECKNER of WOLF PARADE, SAM BROWN of NEW BOMB TURKS and ALEX FISCHEL, collectively known as, DIVINE FITS!!

met these guys as they made their way back from soundcheck and they were so so nice.

i even made SAM and ALEX wait for DAN and BRITT, who were smoking outside, to have a group photo taken before letting them go.

but i thought it was quite mean to deprive them of their shower time, especially after sweating buckets from soundcheck heh so we took individual shots instead ha ha

also, ALEX was telling me how much he loved spicy food and that prior to singapore, he was in yangon with DAN, and the food there made his stomach rather dodgy. but he explained that since they are lived in los angelas and with the amount of mexican food, he have grown to really enjoy spicy food and thinks singapore's got lots of great food heh heh

so BRITT mentioned that he was really excited about coming to singapore as this was his maiden's trip here!! the only place in asia he's been before was only japan so he was really looking forward to coming here.

well we were glad you came as well! :))

so we bumped into the frontwoman of POLICA, CHANNY LEANEAGH, shortly after she and her band's gig at the annual LANEWAY FESTIVAL!

and i know this is kinda 'duh' but.. SHE IS SO SO PRETTY!!! :P

she did not look the least tired at all despite just playing a full set bout a few hours ago heh that's what we call a true professional ehh ha

and she was so kind to have stopped for an autograph and photo too.. :))

the rest of the band were not spotted during their slightly over 24 hours here in singapore but im sure out paths will cross should POLICA pop by our shores again in the future heh :P

met them shortly after their arrival into singapore and it seems like they've been travelling for 13 hours to get here!

anand sounded a little disappointed when he mentioned that they thought they were gonna play in south east asia last year but plans fell through.. but is glad to be back in singapore to play at Laneway!

but regional YEASAYER fans, fret not, they are working to come back to this part of the world!! :DDD

they didnt look as tired as they sound but it was really sweet of them to have stopped for an autograph and pictures :))

the duo just arrived onto our shores and they are such nice and lovely people.

honestly, BRIAN has the skinniest legs ever. never knew he was THAT skinny from the videos on youtube but he was, really really skinny heh

as you can tell from below, i did make them sign quite a number of stuff for me hee :P

nanna is so sweet. her smile is so warm and her voice doesnt sound like that of when she sings.. but thats no big deal heh heh and.. she even photo bombed my photo with raggi!! ha but it's very cute :P

brynjar and kristjan are my two favourites, in terms of looks.. ha ha

as for arnar.. he seems a bit lost but he still looks decent heh heh

wish arni did not leave the band just before they come to singapore though.. heh

im such a big fan of this band, with their distinctive vocals and music.

so glad they made it here but i am secretly hoping they will do a proper gig of them own in the near future.. and that would mean after july since they are pretty packed all the way till then based on their tour dates! heh

and so we have FINALLY met STEVE.AOKI!!

met him shortly after he touched down from japan for his gig last night at avalon.

he looked tired as we were approaching him and was actually rather scared, possibly cause of his beard heh heh but all is good. :))

he signed my 'IM IN THE HOUSE' cd single and a photo i printed and even agreed to a photo :DDDD

and i have to say this - me thinks steve actually looks pretty good, if he had his hair cut shorter and all slicked back.. i like his built and his height ha :P

quick trivia: bet you didnt know that steve aoki is a left-hander ehh! ha ha

anyways, here's leaving you with his very cute autograph.. me thinks it's easily one of the few very pretty ones.. :DDD

KIMBRA

so we managed to meet KIMBRA shortly after her arrival onto our shores, ahead of her gig at this year's LANEWAY FEST!

she looked really tired but that did not stop her from stopping to sign some autographs and pose for some photos with us.

wish we spoke more but we decided to leave her to rest since she even mixed up the days/dates ha ha :P

BAT FOR LASHES

'daniel.. the first time i saw you..' - that is the introduction to BAT FOR LASHES' hit single, 'daniel'..

that was, indeed, the first time NATASHA KHAN saw me, or more commonly known as BAT FOR LASHES!! ha ha

we met her ahead of her appearance at this year's instalment of the annual LANEWAY FEST in singapore..

she looked chirpy and happy when we bumped into her. guessing she must have just finished dinner with her four-member entourage with her.

read some stuff about her with fans prior to meeting her that she is usually nice and friendly and guess what?

she couldn't have been any sweeter..

she had a cute pink tee, with roll-up sleeves on, and a high-waist skirt. and a pair of knee-high boots to complete the outfit

she was so cute when she asked me what my name was, as she was signing for me, and i said 'daniel'. she looked at me looking all surprise and said 'it's all meant to be' ha ha

she is such a sweetheart.. here's what she signed for me..

so.. we met WOUTER 'WALLY' DE BACKER, or widely known as GOTYE by the masses, ahead of his special appearance at this year's singapore-only LANEWAY FEST!! :DDD

met him shortly after he's arrived on our shores and he is really really nice :)))

funny trivia - he totally forgot about the fact that KIMBRA was gonna sing with him on the same stage!! HA HA!! he went 'ahhh yes..' and claimed that 'we've been doing so many shows without her..'

anyways, only had a short conversation as he was gonna head out to grab din dins.. heh

THE HEARTBREAKS

MATTHEW WHITEHOUSE + CHRIS 'DEAKS' DEAKINS + JOSEPH KONDRAS + RYAN WALLACE = THE HEARTBREAKS, are in town!!

the awesome-foursome lads, finally, arrived in singapore after slightly over two hours later than the scheduled time as 'the plane had to go back to re-fuel, as it was running low on fuel, before they flew out' - frontman and burberry model, MATTHEW 'with-those-killer-blue-eyes' WHITEHOUSE explained.

they sure do travel in style even though they hardly had any baggage with them, or so it seems.. really liked the trenchcoat on drummer JOSEPH KONDRAS, the checkered shirt and beanie on bassist CHRIS 'DEAKS' DEAKINS as well as the nicely trimmed hair and the tattoos on the arms of guitarist RYAN WALLACE. needless to say, as mentioned earlier, MATTHEW's eyes were prolly the best accessory, ever. :P #justsaying #biased

so the lads stopped for a couple of minutes for a chat and for some photos + autographs before they head off to the waiting vehicle at the airport.

DIA FRAMPTON

 the runner-up of the first season of THE VOICE USA popped by singapore as part of her south-east asian promo for herself and her debut solo album, RED.

met her just as she arrived at the hotel after she's arrived onto our soil.

she looked kinda tired, possibly from just getting off the plane but was still as sweet as i remembered from watching THE VOICE.

i told her ive been a fan since i heard her perform the cover of kanye west's 'heartless' and she smiled and seemed grateful with her sweet utah accent 'thank you'.

when we told her that we couldnt find RED in the stores here in singapore, she looked kinda sad and her manager and her both replied saying theyre working on it. :)))

she then asked us what they should do/where they should go while in singapore, she mentioned she liked 'food, shopping, temples and.. history.'

i then suggested she should go to chinatown to get her dosage of 'temples, history and food is everywhere here'.

it was so lovely meeting her, really.. such a sweet sweet girl.. heh

2013 - HELLO!

so it's that time of the year again as we bid goodbye to a wonderful, eventful and successful year, we welcome the new one with opened arms with all the unexpected and exciting things that's gonna happen!

we're looking at a jam-packed first quarter of 2013 on the concerts calendar and i am so so psyched!

hopefully we'll get to meet as many of them as we can!
