GARBAGE

SHIRLEY MANSON
BUTCH VIG
DUKE ERIKSON
STEVE MARKER
SHIRLEY MANSON, again <33>
GARBAGE – that 90’s alternative rock band finally popped back onto our shores after 16 years and it was such great pleasure and honour to have met Shirley Manson, yes that same one who played T-1001 terminator/ catherine weaver on terminator: the sarah connor chronicles, together with her crew!!

the last time they appeared on our shores was when they released their debut self-titled album in ’95 and landed on our shores in ’96!

honestly, when you mention Garbage, the only thing i know is shirley manson heh and i knew her a bit more when tyler from neon trees kept mentioning her in his tweets.

met them as they arrived in singapore from playing 2 gigs at summer sonic prior and they were all so lovely and nice.

shirley spoke in her sexy native scottish accent and was surprised at how calm we all were when we met her ha ha and when she realised i was wearing my neon trees tee, i seized the opportunity to ask her how come she and tyler are such good friends.

“cause tyler and his band made a record with my husband (billy bush, who was spotted as he was waiting for shirley to have finished signing stuff/snapping photos with us)!” :P

they are all so nice and lovely and it’s always these huge acts who are the nicer ones these days heh

here’s leaving yall with the signed stuff from Shirley + Co. :DD

MTV SESSIONS - KYLE PATRICK

Kyle Patrick

so i was a mtv sessions virgin until i lost it to the taping of the third instalment of it featuring the click five's lead singer, kyle 'with-that-very-cute-smile-and-dimples' patrick! (not the one i was obsessed with in 2005, that was eric dill :P)

so kyle was back (in some south-east asian countries) to do a show since he's now released his new self-titled EP - congrats on that!

he brought his friends/band on this trip to play and he put on an amazing set and im not even biased..

he kicked off the evening with 'follow your heartbeat' then 'wild ways', which was were really good show starters, me thinks. and behind-the-scenes, which you won't be seeing on tele, he did a medley of some of the click five's hits. namely 'jenny', which he insisted he still doesn't know who jenny really is (HA HA!), 'happy birthday', 'empty' all from the second album, 'modern minds and pastimes', the first with kyle in the line-up. he ended that short sneaky segment with a newer one 'don't let me go', from 'tcv', which he went on to explain how powerful that song was to him as it was chosen as the theme song for an mtv exit campaign, where they first performed it in cambodia/vietnam - apologies as i dont quite remember.. and he could see how the kids who were being trafficked and exploited connected to that song - heartfelt indeed :))

kyle also did a slow one, 'baby, don't board the plane' which was another real and a song that is very easily relatable, well i could relate to it.

he closed the show with his new single, 'go for gold', which was written to inspire himself as he was training for a marathon which he participated in, in new york.

i had a really good time at the show and clearly it was special as 'it was the first time these songs were played live to anyone', and it was us - thank you.

JEDWARD

so the grimes twins decided to pop by singapore with absolutely no notice at all for a quick self-promo here, and yes they apparently paid for their flights here with mommy grimes!

so i managed to catch them just before they left us and man was i stunned by the reception at the airport!

there were no less than 50 enthusiastic fangirls and a handful fanboys, or collectively known as 'jedheads'! the twins arrived shortly after their signing session down town and were instantly mopped by the jedheads, asking for hugs, kisses, more autographs an more photos..

well looking at how the reps from universal music singapore reacted, i decided to settle for photos otherwise i might be trampled upon heh

here are some more photos of the twins at our changi airport, as they were checking in for their flight back home! :))

you're welcomed to use them, just credit me, thank you jedheads!

USS - UBIQUITOUS SYNERGY SEEKER

many many apologies for the delay in updates but here goes, im back!

Human Kebab and Ash, collectively known at USS popped by our shoes complete with their turntables, juice blender, fruits and their brand of electronica, as part of music matters 2012!

upon previewing their music on YouTube and all the other channels, i decided that this is a band that you just miss to watch!

i was already a fan of 'Yo Hello Hooray (Everyday)' and 'Damini' from their second studio album, APPROVED, released last year so going to the show and knowing what to expect was already really cool..

guess what? at their first gig at crazy elephant, i was more than surprised to watch the group, together with drummer Matthew Murphy (extreme right in the above picture), as i was literally blown away by the energy level and the enthusiasm, excitement and passion oozing outta their bodies!

im sure if you were there that night, bout a couple of months ago, you'd totally agree with me, ehh?

having to communicate via twitter prior to their performances at music matters, Human Kebab kept his promise and brought along one of their official merchandise - an USS tee, for me! :DDD

and these guys are way cool no kidding! although at some point, i was a little scared of what could have happened if they were not being stopped! heh :P

and it's obvious that Canada agrees with me about how cool these guys are, seeing as their latest single, 'Damini' are doing really well on their local radio stations!!

proud to call these two my Canadian brothers and hope i will ever get to watch them again in the future!!

Ashley Buchholz or Ash Boo-Schultz

 Jason 'Human Kebab' Parsons

and as usual, am gonna leave yall with these beautifully signed stuff from both jason and ash! :D
